Welcome to the Women’s Handpan Gathering, the first edition. We are very honoured to be creating a space like this in the handpan community. We invite you to a weekend embodying the tools that we as a collective believe are so special to building a creative and purposeful life.

It was said that in many shamanic societies, if you came to a shaman or medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, or depressed, they would ask one of four questions:

When did you stop Dancing?
When did you stop Singing?
When did you stop being enchanted by Stories?
When did you stop finding comfort in the sweet territory of Silence?

Held at Moignes Court, in Dorset, UK, a serene sanctuary; there will be workshops in handpan playing, singing, dancing, yoga and self empowerment. There will be an opening and closing ceremony with music, stories and shared silence. We invite all women to participate – this is a sacred circle where we support one another to cultivate our individual and collective power.

Womens circles are an age old tradition that were passed down by our ancestors. Throughout history, women have gathered in sacred circles to support one another. Be it around a fire or a major woman’s rights march, women have felt drawn together to laugh, share, heal, care for children, grieve and spiritually connect.

Within the structure of the circle, there is no hierarchy; each woman’s voice is equally important, her story honoured and received fully. In this sacred space, a group power is harnessed.

We believe that the power of circles has the power to transform the world – woman by woman, circle by circle. By finding our voices, and claiming our feminine power and celebrating our self worth, we become the change we want to see in our world.
